My conservatory has been transformed with a new super lite roof and windows it is now a lovely space to sit in all year round. I cannot thank the Fitters, Plasterers and Electrician enough for the fantastic job they have done. From the beginning to the end, this company treats every customer as individuals. Everything was explained fully. Our conservatory looked really dated and there were times in the Winter when we didn’t use it at all, even with the heating on. This roof has totally transformed the whole look of the house inside and out. It has also has increased its value. If you’re thinking of changing your roof, I can’t recommend this company enough. So professional and a lovely set of workmen throughout the process. They also replaced some misted up double glazing units we had and it now looks like a new extension. Deb in the office will keep you updated every step of the way.

Excellent service from both the installation team and office staff. Workplace was kept clean and tidy throughout the installation of the new conservatory roof. Have used the conservatory on numerous occasions after the installation and have noticed the difference in the temperature within the conservatory. I would without any hesitation recommend Ashdale home improvements.

We recently had our conservatory roof insulated,and the whole experience was professionally handled from Micheal's consultation to the installation by Chris and Aaron, they arrived on time, did the job efficiently and cleanly they left every thing spotless and even put our blinds back up for us without being asked, and not forgetting Deb in the office who is a gem! We are very happy with the finished results and can now use the room all the time. Many thanks to all concerned.🙂

Professional from 1st visit to final phone call to ensure that work done was satisfactory, Ashdale Home Improvements have exceeded expectations.

I needed a solution for my conservatory roof but didn’t want a full replacement as it was only 3 years old. Ashdale were able to provide an option that didn’t involve the removal of the whole roof, instead they fitted an new internal, insulated ceiling. Do I need planning permission?

Most garden rooms do not require planning permission as they are covered under permitted development. On the occasion that planning permission would be required, Ashdale Home Improvements take care of this for you.

What does permitted development mean?

Permitted development means that you are able to make certain changes to your property without planning permission.

How long does it normally take to build my garden room?

Usually around 8-10 working days, this includes the installation of the base.

Will I need to be at home during the build?

We would ask you to be available when starting the dig for the base so that you can tell the fitting team exactly where you want your garden room installed. Also when our electrician requires access for the installation of the electrics, and to confirm socket positions. Other than that, you can go about your day to day business.

Does a garden room add value to my home?

Yes!

Not only does it add value but because our garden rooms are used all year round being fully insulated, it adds massive appeal to prospective buyers looking for more versatility to their new home.

Can you sleep in a garden rom?

A garden room can be used as an occasional living space, for example, for guests to stay in or for an occasional sleepover. To make it a habitable room, where people are sleeping regularly, would require building regulations, which is something we can help with.

Can garden rooms have toilets?

Yes. However, building regulations are usually required if connecting to the local sewage system, there are also alternative types of toilet solutions available that do not require this.

Can you attach a garden room to the house?

Yes, garden rooms can be attached to your home, although building regulations may be required for this – Either way, we Ashdale Home Improvements can help with this.

How close can a garden room be to the house?

Your garden room can be built as close as 400mm to your property as long as there is a floor space of less than 15m2. If the floor space were to be bigger than that there would be a 1m gap required.
